Recent historical research provides the strongest indications yet that the phenomenon of lesbian kissing definitely pre-dates the Internet Age, even if it only grew in preponderance thereafter.
TV images, while poor in quality compared to today's technology, do nevertheless convey the impression that certain females of the day at least, did enjoy kissing each other - even if they had to be relatively more secretive about their behaviour than today's vixens, who can't seem to stop and even seem to revel in the behaviour, not giving a hoot what the public at large think.
Going further back we find instances of lesbianism in fiction though rarely so daring as the lesbian pulp fiction of the 1950s and 60s.
But the further back we go the more the records appear to peter out. Whether this means that the practice simply was not indulged in, or simply that it was so commonplace that nobody thought it important to record for prosperity, remains to be ascertained.
