Édouard-Henri Avril (21 May 1843–1928) was a French painter and commercial artist. Under the pseudonym Paul Avril, he achieved fame (or perhaps notoriety) as an illustrator of erotic literature. What follows represents only a small sample of his work. Lots more to follow, watch this space!
